Well hi! Let me introduce myself: My name is Allaire Kotz and I am a Junior Communications major at Denison University. I am from Washington, DC and am beyond thrilled to make my way over to Denmark to begin my semester long journey in Copenhagen! I have been an avid journaler my whole life. I have gone through 4 journals since beginning of freshman year in high school. Needless to say, writing about my personal experiences comes very natural to me. I aim to make a bold transition from journaling in my pink flowered diary to writing to you all about my daily life abroad.
You’re probably wondering why this blog is called Abroad Squad, so let me explain. Although I am lucky enough to be traveling with my actual squad of college friends this semester, I understand that is not the case for everyone. If you are considering venturing alone or if you’re like me and going with friends to Denmark, I am here to be part your virtual travel squad! When you want a good recommendation on where to eat, I got you covered. If you want to know what it is like living in a Kollegium, I will be happy to share. If you find comfort in knowing that I am crying at 3 am, homesick and FaceTiming my dog, I will be here to let you know that you’re not alone (hopefully I will have none of that!). There is SO much I am excited to share with you as I immerse myself in Danish lifestyle for four months. I hope you tag along and become part of my own blog squad! – Allaire
